Somebody deleted a column in March. Nobody noticed. The formulas that pointed at it went to #REF!, the total at the bottom quietly became a different number, and by the time you looked at it properly you had already sent three invoices from it.

That is almost always what has happened. It is not a disaster and it is not your fault.

▸ ERROR VALUES EVERYWHERE — #REF!, #VALUE!, #DIV/0!, #N/A, #NAME?. Traced back to the change that caused them, not just patched over, because a patched #REF! comes back next month.

▸ LOOKUPS THAT STOPPED MATCHING — VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH and XLOOKUP failing on a trailing space, a number stored as text, or a renamed heading.

▸ TOTALS THAT DO NOT ADD UP — a SUM that misses the last row, a range that never grew, a double-counted line. I tell you the size of the gap.

▸ A FILE THAT TAKES FOREVER TO OPEN — volatile formulas, whole-column ranges, thousands of unused formatted rows, hidden links to closed workbooks.

▸ DATES AND NUMBERS BEHAVING AS TEXT — the single most common reason a total is wrong while nothing looks broken.

1. YOU ORDER AND MESSAGE ME THE FILE
Attach it to an Etsy message or send a link. Tell me in one sentence what it is supposed to do and where you first noticed it was wrong.

2. I FIND THE CAUSE, NOT JUST THE SYMPTOM
Within a few hours I open it, find what caused the breakage, and message you what I have found.

3. YOU GET THE FIXED FILE WITHIN 48 HOURS
Looking like yours, not rebuilt into my style, because you have to keep using it on Monday. Plus a written note listing everything I found and what I changed.

4. IF I CANNOT FIX IT, YOU GET A REFUND
You hear that on day one, not on day three. Some files are past repair or need a rebuild instead, and I will say so.

TAKE THE REAL NAMES OUT FIRST

A broken formula is broken whether the customer is called Fairhaven Ltd or Customer 1. I do not need your real data to fix your file, and you should not send it.

Safe to send:
• The file with names replaced by Customer 1, Customer 2
• Amounts changed, as long as the structure is identical
• A copy with only the broken tabs left in it
• Screenshots, if the file genuinely cannot leave your machine

I never ask for access to anything. No password, no login, no shared drive, no permissions, no bank connection. You send a file; I send a file back. That is the whole transaction.

WHAT COMES BACK

• Your file, working, in the same format you sent it
• A written note: what was broken, what caused it, what I changed, and the one habit that stops it happening again in the same place
• If a total changed because of the fix, I tell you by how much and which rows moved — you should never have to wonder whether last month's figure was the wrong one

WHAT THIS IS NOT — READ BEFORE ORDERING

✗ Not data recovery. If the file is corrupt and will not open at all, or the data itself is gone, I cannot bring it back. Fixing formulas is not the same as recovering a file.

✗ Not a rebuild. This is repairing what you have. If what you have needs replacing, I will say so and put this order towards my Custom Spreadsheet Build instead.

✗ No macros or VBA debugging. Formulas, structure, formatting and lookups only.

✗ Not accounting or tax advice. I make the arithmetic do what you say it should do. Whether it should do that is still you or your accountant.

✗ I cannot fix everything. Some files are past repair. If yours is, I tell you within a day and refund you rather than charge for a guess.
