The Deal Negotiator is an AI skill for Claude and ChatGPT, made for influencers & creators. Paste the brand's message and it runs a Deal X-Ray: every post priced, usage priced by channel, territory and term, exclusivity conflict-checked against what you've already signed — then writes the counter, warm and ready to send.

Instant download. Works on the free tier. No coding. They offered $500. They asked for $5,945 of work.

WHAT IS AN AI SKILL?
Think of it as a trained assistant you add to Claude or ChatGPT. It is a small folder of files: the step-by-step method the AI must follow, the templates it fills in, the checks it runs on itself, and a worked example. You load it once (about a minute), then talk to the AI in plain English the way you would brief a colleague. Instead of a generic chat answer, you get the finished piece of work as a real file you can print, send or open in Excel. No coding, no software to install, nothing to configure. It runs inside your own Claude or ChatGPT account.

THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES
The most expensive moment in a creator's business is the reply you send too fast. An offer lands, it's real money, and you say yes — to a fee that quietly included six months of paid usage, category exclusivity, and your raw files.

In the demo, a brand offers $500 for “a reel and a few story frames.” Priced line by line, what they asked for is $5,945 of work and rights. The offer is 8% of it, and nothing in the email looked unreasonable.

ABOUT THE EXAMPLES BELOW
The figures and names come from the built-in demo: Maya Chen, a Melbourne coffee-and-travel creator negotiating with a coffee brand. Type "demo" after setup and you watch the same run happen in front of you before you type a single real number.

WHAT IT DOES (6 JOBS, ONE SKILL)
1. X-ray the offer
Paste the brand's message. Every post, every right, every clause comes back itemised and priced against your floor, target and anchor. Then the line that lands: they offered $X, what they asked for is worth $Y. Gifted offers get the same treatment, with the sentence that ends the confusion: an offer with a guaranteed post attached isn't gifting, it's a paid deal with the fee deleted.

2. Price the usage rights
A matrix, not a vibe: content subtotal × channel tier × territory × term, counted from first post date rather than signature. On the demo brief, one unasked question about the word “worldwide” was worth $1,410.

3. Conflict-check exclusivity
It reads the exclusivity you've already signed before pricing the new one, and computes what the lockout costs you in blocked earnings. In the demo, “coffee” instead of “coffee equipment” would have cost Maya $750 and an ongoing partner.

4. Write the counter
Warm, professional, ready to send, with rights priced à la carte. You privately get three numbers on the same package: the counter, the landing zone where good deals close, and the floor where you walk. Mid-negotiation, it answers in three lines: concede, trade, say.

5. Read the paperwork
Every clause ranked Fine, Watch or Dangerous in plain English, costliest first, each with the exact change to request. “Pay when paid” and a usage grant with no stated territory both rank Dangerous.

6. Get me paid
An invoice has gone quiet. It asks what the terms actually said and whether you ever got a PO number, then hands you one rung of a four-rung ladder matched to the days overdue. Not all four, because sending rung three on day two loses the client and the money.

WHAT YOU GET
• Deal X-Ray: what they're really asking for, priced
• Contract scan: every clause ranked Fine / Watch / Dangerous
• Get-me-paid ladder, deal log and renewal radar

Not a chat you scroll back through at 11pm while the brand waits. Documents you keep:
• The X-Ray table — every ask priced, with the usage tier, territory and term shown
• Counter, landing zone and floor — three numbers on one package, recomputed every round
• The counter email, written and ready to send, plus contract notes clause by clause
• The deal log — every close in a spreadsheet, with the renewal radar dates that are worth money later

YOUR FIRST FIVE MINUTES (copy-paste any of these)
› Here's the brand's email. Run the Deal X-Ray. [paste]
› What's this worth if they want 6 months of paid usage, worldwide?
› Counter it, but keep the door open — I want the relationship.
› Review this contract. Rank every clause. [paste]
› What's expiring? Run my deal log and renewal radar.

HOW TO SET IT UP (about a minute)
1. Download the zip and unzip it. Inside: a START-HERE file, INSTALL steps for Claude, and CHATGPT-SETUP for ChatGPT.
2. Claude app: Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill (or add the files to a Project). Claude Code: drop the folder into ~/.claude/skills/. ChatGPT: follow CHATGPT-SETUP (copy-paste, about two minutes).
3. Type "demo" to watch the skill run on a built-in example. Then give it your own details in plain English.

WHO MADE THIS
The Skill Mastery builds AI skills for working professionals: photographers, filmmakers, creators, marketers and sales teams. We don't start from what AI can do. We start from how the job is actually done, the methods the trade already trusts (here: floor/target/anchor rate math, pitch concepts and usage-rights pricing), the numbers that have to be right, and the mistakes that cost real money. Then we engineer the skill so the AI follows those rules every single time, and we test it the way a buyer would use it: on the built-in demo, on a cold scenario it has never seen, and in a currency other than our own. Every skill ships with a demo mode, a self-check, and a plain list of what it can't do.

WHY NOT JUST ASK THE CHATBOT?
• It defends your numbers. It reads the rate card saved in your profile. The counter argues from your floor, target and anchor, not a number it invented this morning. If you're on commission, it shows take-home next to gross at every level.

• It prices the invisible stuff. Broadcast usage costs +90% and carries a six-month minimum. Worldwide is a 1.5× factor. Whitelisting is always separate. These are the lines that quietly cost the most, and the ones a general chatbot forgets to mention.

• It compounds. Every closed deal writes a row into your profile and your deal log. Three comparable closes and your rate card stops being a benchmark and starts being evidence, which is exactly what the Rate Card Builder re-rates you from.

WHAT IT WON'T DO (read this before buying)
• It's plain-English education about contracts, not legal advice. Past roughly $5k, or on perpetual-rights terms, it tells you to buy an hour with a real lawyer, and means it.
• Rate benchmarks are directional 2026 estimates from model knowledge, labelled as estimates. Your own inbound offers are better data, and the skill says so.
• It can't collect an unpaid invoice. It gets you to the point where collections or small claims is the obvious next step, faster than you'd have got there alone.

FAQ
Q: How is this different from just asking Claude or ChatGPT?
A: A general chatbot gives you a reasonable-sounding number. The Deal Negotiator runs a fixed method: it itemises every deliverable and right, prices usage through a channel-by-territory-by-term matrix, conflict-checks exclusivity against what you've already signed, prices each line against the rate card in your profile, shows the arithmetic, and writes the counter. It never invents a figure to fill a gap.

Q: What actually comes out of a run?
A: A Deal Memo, saved as a document you keep: the X-Ray table with every ask priced, the usage tier and territory and term used, the exclusivity conflict check with its blocked-earnings math, your counter and landing zone and floor, the strategy in three bullets, the ready-to-send reply, and any contract notes. Each new round of the negotiation appends to that same file rather than starting a new one.

Q: The offer came from an agency, not the brand. Does that change anything?
A: Yes, and the skill spots it from the sending domain and the wording. Agency briefs come with wider default rights and worse payment terms, so it asks one specific question early — whether their fee is separate from the talent budget — and gives you a flat no to “we pay you when the client pays us.” It also treats getting onto the agency's roster as part of the prize.

Q: I don't have a rate card yet. Can I still use it?
A: Yes. The Deal Negotiator runs a short setup interview, saves a creator profile you'll reuse across every skill in the Suite, and carries its own tier tables so it can price a deal standalone. For the full floor / target / anchor treatment there's the Media Kit & Rate Card Builder, and this skill reads that card automatically once it exists.

Q: Is it a subscription?
A: No. The Deal Negotiator is a one-time purchase, yours to keep, updates included. It runs inside the Claude or ChatGPT account you already pay for, and the free tiers work too.

Q: Do I need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan?
A: No. The free tiers run it. Paid plans give you longer sessions and stronger models, which is nicer but not required.

Q: Claude or ChatGPT: which should I use?
A: Both are included and both work. Claude gives the fuller experience because skills upload directly; ChatGPT setup is a two-minute copy-paste from the included CHATGPT-SETUP file.

Q: Do I need to know how to code?
A: No. You type in plain English. Setup is upload-a-file, and every step is written out for non-technical people.

Q: Does it work outside the US, in my currency?
A: Yes. It works in your currency, your date format and your market. It never converts or invents exchange rates.

Q: Can I use it for client work?
A: Yes. One purchase is a perpetual single-user licence; everything it produces is yours to use, unrestricted, for your own business or your clients. You just can't resell or share the skill files themselves.

Q: Is my data private?
A: It runs entirely inside your own Claude or ChatGPT account. We never see your numbers, clients or files.

Q: Can I use it on my phone?
A: Set it up once on a computer; after that it works from the Claude and ChatGPT phone apps too.

Q: Do I get updates?
A: Yes, free updates to this version. If a new version ships, message us on Etsy for the update.

Q: What if it doesn't work for me?
A: Digital files can't be returned on Etsy, but message us and we'll make it right, whether that's a fix, a walkthrough or a refund. A real person replies.
