What is NFC?
NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It is a short-range wireless technology that lets two electronic devices exchange small amounts of data when they touch or sit within a few centimeters of each other. It is the same technology that allows your credit card to be read just by tapping the card to the store's credit machine. But NFC is so much more versatile than that. Simply put, in the context of adding it to one of my products, it allows your phone to open a link you choose or Story Page I create with you and host.

The only requirement is that the ability to read NFC on your smart phone is turned on. No additional software is needed. Modern smartphones started being widely available with NFC capability in 2014. It is possible your intended recipient has a more basic phone that doesn't have this, so please check before ordering. A QR code sticker can be included, too, at no extra charge.

Where does it go on the product?
I can set a small NFC tag into the board, invisible from the front, or I can carve an NFC symbol to help you locate it. Tap it with a phone and whatever link or page you choose opens. Alternatively, a 1" diameter QR sticker can be placed on the front or back as an alternative method to open the link.

Your own link — $9. Set to your https address, or left as a claimable gift link the recipient sets themselves. You can change it whenever you wish.

Hosted page — Starts at $18 for a simple page with limited photos and text. Up to $54 for more adding more photos, audio, video, and a guest book. I build it and host it at craftedlink.app and you choose from available templates. Hosted for at least 10 years from the day the tag is activated. Your photos and message stay downloadable for free the whole time — and after. No additional fees during that time and the page is editable by you at any time.

What are some ideas to use it?
On a gifted tray, to share messages, photos, audio, and video that can be remotely changed by you.

With a memorial plaque, to honor a loved one. Include photos, significant dates, allow for guests to view it or keep private (coming soon). Allow for guests to leave messages, moderated by you (coming soon).

A closing gift (cutting board, house sign) from the realtor to the new home buyer to link to their branded webpage. Make it custom to include useful information for the home owner such as home warranty, school contact information, HOA rules, whatever you choose. Keep your client tapping for the useful info and they'll always be eager to share your information to their friends looking for a new place.

Horse stable or pet boarding business: Embed a tag on the stall or kennel sign and get a link to your data - find out if the client is paid up, when the animal was last fed, and issues to be aware of, whatever your can design into your website. Redirect Link: You can tell me at checkout what link you'd like or you can set it yourself (or change it) later.

Crafted Story Page: This is a custom page with your choice of available templates (new ones coming soon):
-Level 1 - 1 megabytes of storage. Can hold at least 2 compressed photos and 2000 characters of text. Includes up to a 10 point Checklist that can be used for monitoring chores, your daily workout routine, maintenance checks, Airbnb check in/checkout procedure, etc.
-Level 2 - 10 megabytes of storage. Can hold 20-25 photos and 20,000 characters of text. Adds text guestbook feature and 20 point milestones. Perfect for a military retirement gift, end of season gift for the team's coach, or a simple memorial page. Includes an additional preprogrammed nfc tags and qr code to access the page away from the gift.
-Level 3 - 150 megabytes of storage. Can hold 165-330 photos and an entire novel of text. Adds collaborations with guests being able to add multimedia (can be moderated by page owner), plus up to 10 additional NFC tags and qr codes to give away.

Information is uploaded using a secure self-serve portal, allowing you to change template and content at your discretion and see the published page immediately. Pages can be made public or secured with a pin #. Help from me is just an email away. All info can be exported by you for additional safe keeping and off-line access. Our database is backed up daily. The NFC tag itself is expected to last at least 10 years. If it fails for any reason before that, reach out to me and I will send you a new one. This is a new service and the plan is to prefund 10 years from date purchase to outlast anything that may happen with me personally or the business. I have been selling on Etsy since 2016 and plan to continue doing so for at least another couple of decades.
