This lilac necklace, shading into plum, carries an enamel flower pendant in a gold-tone frame at its center. Two bead sizes fill the strand: 8 mm plum beads and 6 mm lilac ones, polished throughout.

On a plain knit it takes a brooch's place. Boho in feel, it suits a closet of grey and denim, for an anniversary dinner, a party, or a working Tuesday.

At 20 inches the lowest beads sit just below the collarbone, with a longer chain fitting underneath. Every bead is smooth, and only the rhinestone discs catch under your fingertip.

Bekir and Seha kept the darkest plum at the back and the lilac forward, one cream bead beside the clasp. One Lilac Bloom was strung, cream bead and all, and the necklace photographed is the one that reaches you.
