This green agate necklace is one strand of about fifty 8 mm round beads with a 30 mm carved scroll pendant. Smooth apple green gemstone beads gather at the centre, glossy against the frosted crackle of the agate.

Summer is when these greens get worn, a statement necklace for someone whose clothes stay plain. It takes a wedding you attend, a long lunch, or a Wednesday at work.

Worn over a t-shirt, the beads close at 17 inches and the pendant lands on the collarbone. Under your fingers the frosted beads catch where the glossy ones slip past.
