Adult Roommate Chore Agreement Template, Household Responsibility Chart (PDF)

This printable Household Responsibilities Agreement moves one household responsibility, such as the trash, the bills, or the laundry, from one person to another, with every detail written down and signed by both.

The previous owner is the person who handles the responsibility today, and the new owner is the person taking it over.

This is a working agreement for a household, not a legal contract.

How to use it:
1. Print one copy of this agreement for each responsibility you hand over, or open Household Responsibilities Agreement Google Docs Access.pdf to type it in Google Docs.
2. Gather the keys, codes, account names, saved password locations, and contacts the responsibility uses.
3. Tick each detail on page 3 that moves to the new owner.
4. Write the responsibility, its trigger, how often it happens, its deadline, its completion requirements, and the sign it was missed on page 4.
5. Fill in the page 5 rows for the details you ticked on page 3.
6. Write the exception plan on page 6.
7. Meet, and use the first script on page 7 to go through pages 3 to 6 together.
8. Fill in page 8 together, leaving the signatures for last.
9. Tick each check on page 7, say scripts 2 and 3, and both sign page 8.
10. Fill in page 9 together on the review date, correct any page a change touches, and print a new page 9 for each later review.
