HOW TO GET STARTED

For the easiest and most reliable setup, begin on a desktop or laptop computer.

1. Purchase STEADYFACTS and download the ZIP through Etsy.com using a computer or mobile browser. Etsy digital purchases cannot currently be downloaded through the Etsy app.
2. Extract the complete ZIP file.
3. Place the entire STEADYFACTS folder in a private, permanent location.
4. Open STEADYFACTS_APP.html in a current browser.
5. Complete the private setup.
6. Create one harmless test record.
7. Export and restore a test backup before entering important information.

Recommended for the most reliable local-file experience:

STEADYFACTS is also designed for current Firefox and Safari, with responsive viewing on tablets and phones.

Local-file handling and browser storage behavior can vary between devices, operating systems and browser profiles. Test the app and backup workflow on the exact device and browser profile you intend to use.

IMPORTANT LOCAL-STORAGE INFORMATION

STEADYFACTS stores records and attachments locally in the browser profile used to open the app.

Moving or renaming the app file, switching browser profiles, clearing browser data, using private-browsing mode or replacing the device can make locally stored data unavailable.

Export complete backups regularly and keep a protected backup copy separate from the working device.

STEADYFACTS does not replace a proper backup routine.
