Highlights

Eschscholzia mix is offered in a packet of 100 seeds for ornamental garden growing. Eschscholzia is commonly known as California poppy and is valued for finely divided foliage and bright, cup-shaped flowers. This product is supplied as a mix, so individual plants may vary in flower colour and appearance. You will receive seeds for sowing, not live plants.

Eschscholzia is an accepted genus in the poppy family, Papaveraceae, native from the western United States to northwestern Mexico. The genus includes annuals and short-lived perennials adapted to sunny, free-draining sites. This listing identifies the seed at genus level and does not assign an unverified species, cultivar, exact mature size, or fixed colour ratio.

Where local conditions are suitable, sow into a prepared outdoor seedbed or the position where the plants are intended to grow, as California poppies generally prefer minimal root disturbance. Use fine, free-draining soil, distribute the seeds with enough space for airflow, and cover according to locally appropriate guidance. Keep the surface lightly and evenly moist while germination is under way, avoiding waterlogged conditions.

After seedlings emerge, thin crowded growth carefully rather than repeatedly transplanting it. Choose an open position in full sun with well-drained soil. Eschscholzia works well in sunny borders, gravel gardens, meadow-style plantings, and low-maintenance ornamental displays. Established plants generally suit drier conditions better than heavy, constantly damp soil. Adjust sowing time, spacing, watering, and seasonal protection to your climate and site.

Store unused seeds sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excess humidity. Germination timing, mature habit, flower colour, and final garden performance depend on seed handling, temperature, moisture, soil, season, and growing practice, so no fixed germination percentage or exact flowering result is promised.
