💚 The Story Behind the Design
My studio is near the sea, surrounded by long stretches of coastal woodland. Hidden among the trees not far from my studio is a small lotus pond.

Under the willows, lotus leaves grow quietly on the water, with a few flowers and buds among them, together with wild aquatic plants. The pond is so peaceful that you can hear the faint sounds of insects.

For this scarf, I treated lotus leaves separately in madder root and onion skin dye baths, creating two different colors of botanical imprints. The lotus petals were also treated with madder root, giving them a soft coral pink.

For the background, I blended three natural dye extracts to create a soft blue-green reminiscent of pond water.

I feel this piece captures something of that little pond and my encounter with it one summer.

Made from mulberry silk satin, 65 × 65 cm, it can be worn as an art scarf or displayed as a textile artwork — a small reminder of a quiet summer pond, with the faint sound of insects in the air.

❤️ Care
Gently hand wash separately in cool water with pH-neutral detergent. Please do not soak or bleach. Dry in the shade and iron on a silk setting if needed.

Each scarf is carefully wrapped in a handmade botanical eco-printed cotton bag.

A small botanical eco-printed card is also included. You can write your own message on it when giving the scarf as a gift, or you can simply keep it as a botanical bookmark.
