“WINDSWEPT WILLOW” — Shaped by the Wind

Windswept Willow is an original hand-twisted wire tree sculpture that captures the graceful movement of a willow caught in a steady wind—its long branches sweeping dramatically to one side and its textured trunk remaining firmly rooted.

These windblown trees are among my favorite pieces to create. As the trunk and branches begin to take shape, the tree develops its own personality.

The Details

• The Trunk: Individually twisted wires are worked, pressed, and shaped together to create a substantial trunk with an irregular, bark-like texture and a natural, aged appearance.

• The Canopy: Long, flowing willow branches sweep in one direction, creating the impression of a tree being shaped by a persistent wind.

• The Foundation: Permanently mounted on a barkless wood slab that has been intentionally distressed and textured by hand. The surface and edges have been worked to give the wood a rugged, weathered character that complements the tree.

• One of a Kind: Every section of the trunk and every branch is formed individually by hand. No molds or patterns are used, making this sculpture unique from every angle.
