The back itemizes the damage — gingerbread shingles ×14, sugar-glass windows ×2, fence posts (bitten) ×6, deposit: WITHHELD — beneath the sternest line in hospitality: property damage will be deducted from your deposit. The front carries the vintage "Hansel u. Gretel — est. 1812" storefront crest.

The artwork is genuinely antique: Ludwig Richter's classic Hansel and Gretel wood engraving (the witch at her gingerbread door, the children at the fence) and Hermann Vogel's hand-drawn story-title lettering, both from 19th-century German editions of the Brothers Grimm and both long in the public domain. We restore the scans, cut the compositions, and set the type in-house — every design in this shop is our own original composition built from authentic vintage artwork.
