SOMETHING LARGE IS STANDING AT THE EDGE OF THE LIGHT.

Roadside warning signs, glowing eyes in the shrubs, and a shape you are not quite sure about behind a tree. Less gore than most Halloween themes and quite a lot more unsettling, which makes it the one that works on a quiet street.

This is not a mood board. It is 40 to-scale layouts — one for every combination of 10 front yard shapes and 4 budgets — showing exactly where each piece goes, measured in feet from your sidewalk.

WHAT YOU GET
• 40 to-scale layout maps, one per lot shape per budget
• Every piece named, with the real height and width off the retailer's own listing
• A direct link to buy each item
• Exactly where it sits and how far back from the sidewalk
• What the whole display does to your outlets, in amps
• 4 free build plans if you would rather make it than buy it

THE FOUR BUDGETS
Do it yourself — under $250. Real plans land at $147 to $246.
Mid — under $500. Lands at $187 to $359.
High — under $1,000. Lands at $540 to $969.
Luxury — under $2,500. Lands at $637 to $1,163.

Nothing is padded to hit a number and nothing goes over. A piece only appears in a plan if it physically fits the spot, by footprint AND by height.

THE 10 LOT SHAPES
Wide Shallow with No Porch • Narrow Shallow with Porch • L-Shaped with Projecting Garage • Deep Narrow • Corner Lot • Split-Level or Raised Ranch • Sloped or Terraced • Small Urban Postage Stamp • Circular Driveway • Long Driveway with Rural Frontage

WHY THIS THEME WORKS WHEN OTHERS DO NOT
Most Halloween yards shout. This one does the opposite, and that is why it lands on a street where a giant inflatable would look silly. The trick is what you leave dark: the house stays plain and undecorated on purpose, so the thing standing at the edge of the light is the only thing your eye goes to. The plans tell you where not to put lights as carefully as where to put them.

INCLUDES FOUR FREE BUILD PLANS
• Plywood Bigfoot — $57 and a weekend. One sheet of plywood, and it comes out taller than the $160 metal one.
• Bare Branch Tree Stand — $32. Three dead branches set in buckets of concrete, so a yard with no trees gets a treeline. The material is free.
• Ground Fog Chiller — about $68. A cooler, a bag of ice and a length of dryer duct that turns a fog machine's rising cloud into fog that lies on the grass and rolls.
• Dressed Garden Arch — $31. A plain metal arch you dress to the theme, standing over the walk so it costs no lawn.

MORE THEMES IN THIS SHOP

Every one is the same thing: 10 lot shapes, 4 budgets, measured lists, nothing over its ceiling.

If this one is not quite your yard:

• THE OLD CEMETERY — the other one built for a quiet street. Leaning stones, candles and fog, with nothing alive in it.
• ALIEN INVASION — the same idea with the source named and the lights turned up. Every slot fills on all forty plans.

There are more Halloween themes here, and Christmas ones as well. Christmas plans are up now, which is when people actually plan them. Tap the shop name to see them all.
