EVERY MAZE IN THIS BOOK HAS BEEN SOLVED
Not spot-checked. Solved, all 21 of them, by walking the finished grid before it went to print. A maze that cannot be finished is not a hard page, it is a broken one, and a child who cannot get out decides the fault is theirs rather than the paper's. Two other things were checked on every grid: that every square can be reached from the start, so nothing is sealed off, and that there is exactly one route between any two squares, so there are no loops to wander round in forever.

WHAT CHANGES BETWEEN LEVELS, AND WHAT DOES NOT
The grid gets bigger and the number of dead ends goes up, both at every single level - from a 6 by 8 grid with 6 dead ends up to 20 by 26 with 53. What does not reliably go up is how long the answer is; that falls where it falls, and a bigger maze sometimes has a shorter route through it. The index page prints the real numbers for every level so you can pick rather than guess.

BIG ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY DRAW ON
The squares run from just over an inch at level 1 down to a little under a third of an inch at level 7, and nothing goes below that, because a maze a child cannot get a pencil into is a maze they cannot do.
