Crochet Cheat Sheet Printable, Abbreviations, Hook Size Conversion

The three sheets a crocheter reaches for mid-row: every standard abbreviation, the hook sizes in millimetres and US letters with the knitting needle each one matches, the eight yarn weight categories by crochet gauge, the US and UK stitch names side by side — because a UK double crochet is a US single — and a stitch calculator for any width at any gauge. All of it the Craft Yarn Council's published standards, never retyped, and checked against the source before printing.

WHAT YOU GET — 3 prints, each at 3 sheet sizes (9 PDFs)
• Crochet Abbreviations — all 66 standard abbreviations (sc, hdc, dc, tr, sc2tog, BLO, FLO, FPdc, BPdc, ch-sp and the rest) with their full meanings, the pattern symbols (* [ ] ( )), and the US and UK terms that differ
• Hook Sizes & Yarn Weights — 28 hook sizes in mm and US with the matching knitting needle, and the 8 yarn weight categories from 0 Lace to 7 Jumbo with the crochet gauge, hooks and wraps per inch each one expects
• US & UK Stitches, Gauge and the Calculator — the 6 stitch names in both systems (every name shifts one step), 70 stitch counts for widths from 4 to 40 inches at gauges from 8 to 20 stitches per 4 inches, and how to swatch honestly
• Every print at 8x10 in, 11x14 in and A4
• A one-page printing guide

FROM THE STANDARD, NOT FROM MEMORY
Crochet abbreviations are a convention with an owner: the Craft Yarn Council, whose standards nearly every pattern and yarn label follow. The abbreviations, hook conversions, US/UK stitch names and yarn weight categories here are the Council's own published tables, taken as they are and never retyped; the hook table was cross-checked against a second published table, and every millimetre size both carry agrees. The calculator is arithmetic — width times gauge — computed, then every cell multiplied again off the finished page. The sheets say where the tables came from, so you can check them yourself.

WHO IT IS FOR
A new crocheter meeting FPdc for the first time; anyone who has bought a UK pattern and wondered why the piece came out a size wrong; a crochet group, a yarn shop counter, a gift for the crocheter who has everything except a chart by the chair.

PRINTING
Print at 100% (Actual size), not "fit to page". The text is navy with brass headings; to save colour ink, print in greyscale and every line stays readable. Anything from 160gsm upwards looks like a print rather than a photocopy.
