Golden autumn light falls across an old Victorian house while a shadowy figure waits behind one of the upstairs windows in this atmospheric Halloween print, “THE HOUSE AT FIVE O’CLOCK.”

The house is shown at the most ordinary hour of the evening. The front door is open, lamps glow behind the windows and the last sunlight catches the ornate porch, turret and weathered siding.

That normality is what makes the figure upstairs feel strange. It appears as a dark silhouette inside a brightly lit window, small enough to miss at first and difficult to ignore once noticed.

Pumpkins sit along the front path and steps while fallen maple leaves cover the garden. Deep orange foliage frames the pale Victorian architecture and gives the scene a strong October setting without pushing it into a dark nighttime palette.

The large title at the top has the character of an old illustrated mystery cover. Cream, teal and burnt orange lettering echoes the colors of the house and autumn trees, while the clock detail inside the typography reinforces the five o’clock idea.
