A handwoven basket backpack in sage green and mustard, made in Tanzania. Hands-free carry for travel, work, or everyday errands.
Handwoven by a collective of women in Iringa, Tanzania, led by Catherine Shembilu of Vikapu Bomba. Many of the weavers are widows who reshaped the traditional market basket into a hands-free everyday bag. Each one takes about a week to make. We're not just selling a bag, we're sharing a culture we love.

- Woven from milulu grass, a reed-like grass gathered along the rivers of Tanzania's southern highlands and dried in the sun
- Handwoven sage green and mustard basket backpack
- Dark-brown leather straps; structured back panel; brass-tone buckles
- The maker's own label is sewn in, alongside ours
SIZE (approximate): 14.2 in wide x 14 in tall x 6.7 in deep (36 x 35.5 x 17 cm). Height does not include handles or straps.
CARE: Spot clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Keep out of prolonged direct sun and standing water to protect the natural fiber and color. Store stuffed with tissue to help it hold its shape between wears.
