Black Cat Quilt Pattern, Applique & Collage Quilt, Houseplant Cat Quilt PDF, Patchwork Wall Hanging, Folk Art Animal Quilt Template

🌸 Welcome to WildbloomQuilts - bold, colourful folk-art quilt patterns for makers who love vivid, joyful projects. 🌸

This charming pattern features four bold folk-art panels, each showcasing a mischievous black cat nestled among beloved houseplants — a terracotta pot bursting with red and pink blooms, a golden yellow planter holding spiky snake plant leaves, a trailing pothos spilling from a mustard hanging pot, and a lush tropical plant with sunny yellow flowers in a patterned wicker basket. The cream background of each panel lets the vivid oranges, greens, golds, and deep reds sing, while a rich burnt-orange and olive-green window frame ties the whole composition together with warmth and wit. Every cat wears the same wide-eyed, slightly smug expression that any plant parent will instantly recognise, making this design as joyful to stitch as it is to display. It is a celebration of cosy interiors, happy plants, and the cats who will absolutely sit in them.

✏️ A NOTE ON THE FINE DETAIL: some of the detail in this design - the ridges around the terracotta pot, the weave of the wicker basket, the veins along the leaves - is drawn too finely to cut as its own piece of fabric, so it prints as thin lines inside a larger numbered shape. You cut the shape whole, fuse it down, and sew those lines on top as decorative stitching afterwards (they are optional). The Sewing Guide explains it step by step.

🎨 SKILL LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate - the project uses raw-edge fusible applique and basic quilting techniques.

✂️ MATERIALS NEEDED:

Every pattern in this shop is my own work, from the first line to the last page. I draw each design by hand as an original vector illustration in Adobe Illustrator, then develop it into a ready-to-sew applique pattern - every cutting line, every fabric colour, every template page and instruction. Each one takes time and a lot of care, and I hope that comes through when you stitch it.
