WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

EVERY FIGURE IS NET OF COMMISSIONS AND FEES. On every single row. Comparing gross results is the most common error in a home-made trading sheet and it flatters a high-frequency record badly. The Stats tab also shows your fees as a share of your gross profit, which is a number most traders have never calculated.

EXPECTANCY PER SETUP, NOT JUST WIN RATE. What one trade of each kind has been worth to you on average, winners and losers together. This is the column that exposes a strategy with a great win rate and negative expectancy.

R-MULTIPLES. Every closed trade with a planned stop gets its result divided by the money you deliberately put at risk. R is what makes a $200 win on a tight stop comparable with a $200 win on a loose one. Average win R against average loss R is the core of the whole review, and an average loss meaningfully worse than -1.00R tells you stops are being moved.

A DISCIPLINE COMPARISON. Two questions on every row - did you take the stop you planned, and did you size it the way you meant to. The workbook then compares what you earned on the trades where you followed your own rules against the trades where you did not. In the sample that gap is $660.69 per trade.

BUILT FOR OPTIONS AND FUTURES, NOT JUST STOCKS. Strike, expiry, days to expiry, implied volatility at entry, assignment, contract multiplier and margin used all sit on the same row as the stock fields. Long options, short options, vertical spreads, iron condors, futures and short stock are all handled, with the entry convention for each one written out. A by-outcome table compares expired worthless against closed early on what each earned per trade.

IT CHECKS ITSELF AND TELLS YOU. A Row Check column catches a contract multiplier that does not match the instrument, an exit date earlier than the entry date, an exit date with no price or a price with no date, a quantity of zero, a stop set equal to the entry, and a position risking more than the limit you set yourself. Half-entered rows are held out of every statistic until you finish them, so a partial trade can never quietly drag an average around. The Dashboard counts what needs your attention.

IT TELLS YOU WHEN NOT TO TRUST IT. Set your minimum sample size and any statistic built on fewer closed trades than that is marked provisional. A setup with four trades in it is telling you nothing, however good the win rate looks, and this workbook says so rather than letting you act on it.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open Settings. Enter your starting equity, your own target win rate and profit factor, and the most you are willing to risk on one trade.
2. Open Lists. Replace the sample setups, accounts and time blocks with your own wording. Every dropdown and every grouped table reads from that tab.
3. Log your trades on the Trade Log. That is the only tab you type trades into. Two hundred rows are ready to use.
4. Everything else fills itself in. Leave the exit date blank while a trade is still open and it stays out of every average until it closes.

51 closed and 4 open sample trades are already in there as a worked example. Select the white cells and press Delete to clear them in one go.
