THE 24 OBJECTS
Leaves: red maple, sugar maple, white oak, red oak, ginkgo, sweetgum.
Seeds & nuts: red oak acorn, maple samaras, white pine cone, buckeye, black walnut, sweetgum ball.
Harvest: pumpkin, apple, butternut squash, corn, grapes, cranberries.
Autumn life: gray squirrel, chipmunk, woolly bear caterpillar, monarch butterfly, Canada goose, turkey tail (a fungus).

TRUE-SIZE CARDS, EASY TO CUT
Control card 3.5 x 4.5 in, picture card 3.5 x 3.5 in, label card 3.5 x 1 in. Stacked together, the picture card and label card match the control card, so children can check their own work. Each page holds two objects, and every cut is one straight line from crop mark to crop mark. Each card has its own frame, so a slightly uneven cut still looks neat.

MADE FOR EARLY READERS
Lowercase labels (capitals only for names like Canada goose) in a clear, rounded print font with the "a" and "g" children learn to write.

Same card size, font and style as our Winter Nature 3-Part Cards (24 winter objects), so the two sets file together on one shelf. Sold separately.

HONEST NOTES
Ages 3-7: pre-readers match pictures, readers match labels, older children read the fact cards. Buckeyes are poisonous; never touch or taste wild mushrooms. Acorns, nuts, cones and sweetgum balls are choking-size, so keep nature-table finds away from children under 3. Drawings are simplified for learning and not to scale. Not every object grows everywhere in the US (sweetgum is southern and eastern, white pine northern and eastern), so blank cards are included for your own finds. Months on the seasons wheel are for the Northern Hemisphere. Standard 3.5 x 4.5 in cards, so they file neatly with other 3-part card sets.

FACT-CHECKED
Names and facts are checked by hand against Virginia Tech Dendrology, NC State Extension, University of Illinois Extension, Purdue Agronomy, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the USDA Forest Service, and every source is listed inside.
