How does a tiny apple seed become an apple tree? Students will explore the apple life cycle, learn about the parts of an apple, investigate how apples grow and discover why bees are so important. Students will also do an apple browning science experiment to see what liquids slow down apples turning brown. Students will graph their results.
Students will also discover the story of Johnny Appleseed, and how he planted apple nurseries as he traveled parts of the United States. Students will track Johnny Appleseed's route and complete a research project for the state of Indiana, where Johnny Appleseed spent most of his life.
Apples make math fun! Students will graph different colors of apples and complete apple-themed problems.
