Item highlights

  • Vintage: From the 1950s

Seller's description

Beautiful handmade studio pottery serving tray featuring a dramatic deep black center surrounded by layered shades of cobalt, slate and soft blue glaze.

The rectangular form has softly rounded corners and a substantial hand-crafted feel. The variations in the glaze give the piece wonderful depth and make each area slightly different depending on the light.

The underside has an incised artist signature, shown in the photographs. The signature has not been positively identified, so the artist is being left unattributed rather than making an uncertain attribution.

A versatile piece that works beautifully as a serving platter, centerpiece, decorative tray or display piece. Its rich blue and black coloring would also complement modern, contemporary, coastal or eclectic interiors.
