WELCOME TO THE MONSTER HOTEL

You’ve arrived at the Monster Hotel ready for your stay, but there’s one rather important problem...

Your room key has vanished. It seems the magician who stayed in your room last night accidentally sent it through a magical portal. Unfortunately, he can’t remember the spell needed to bring it back.

He does remember one thing. The words of the spell are hidden somewhere around the hotel.

Players must explore the Monster Hotel, solve the mysterious puzzles and collect the secret words they reveal. Find them all, uncover the forgotten spell and see if you can bring the missing room key back!

⏱️ GAME DETAILS

AGE: 8+
PLAYING TIME: Approximately 45–60 minutes
PLAYERS: 1–5 players per team

Got a bigger group? Print additional game copies and divide everyone into teams or play in a round robin style with a different station set up for each puzzle.

The game can also take longer if you choose to hide puzzles around your home or add some of the optional DIY challenges.

10 DIFFERENT PUZZLES TO SOLVE

Players will encounter a mixture of different challenges as they make their way through the Monster Hotel.

They'll investigate ghosts with hidden secrets, decipher a monster's collection of travel stickers, tackle the hotel restaurant rather questionable ingredients, investigate a mysterious haunted mirror, clean up Boggy Bert's revolting hotel pool, visit the Boo-tification Station, sort out the Monster Hotel's Employee of the Month disaster and more.

Each solved puzzle reveals a secret word. Once all 10 have been discovered, players use them to uncover the final magical spell and complete their adventure.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY

KEEP IT QUICK & EASY: Don't have hours to prepare an escape room? No problem. All you need is five minutes!

Print the game, complete the small amount of preparation explained in the Quick Prep Guide and set out the puzzles ready to play. The puzzles can be completed in any order, so there's no complicated sequence for you to manage.

CREATE A REAL ESCAPE ROOM AT HOME

Want to make a whole event of it? That's where the additional kits come in.

Hide clues around your home, add real locks and locked boxes, use UV messages, hide puzzle pieces, create disgusting slime challenges and use the printable props to turn different areas of your home into parts of the Monster Hotel.

You don't have to use everything. Choose one or two ideas, combine your favourites, or go completely overboard.

The DIY Kit itself is designed specifically so parents can pick and choose how elaborate they want their setup to be.
