Chrome lettering, acid yellow and a precise 90s grid give the artwork presence across a room. The silver F1, shown from the front, the side and the rear, invites a closer look. Above a desk or in a garage lounge, it's a conversation piece for anyone who knows what that name means.

The subject is a 1995 McLaren F1 road car in silver. Gordon Murray put the driver in the middle with a passenger seat on each side, and gold foil lines the engine bay around the 6.1-litre BMW V12 of 627 PS. 64 road cars were built, and in 1998 an F1 reached 240.1 mph, 386.4 km/h.

Every car was a drawing before it was a car. We start with the finished car and draw it back to that first decision, until the proportion is honest and the stance is right and you would know it from across the room without a badge.
