Good luck, served on a platter.

This handmade mosaic magnet features a reproduction of “Prosit 1911” (“Cheers 1911”), a New Year’s card designed by Austrian artist Hans Kalmsteiner and published by the Wiener Werkstätte in Vienna in 1910.

A stylish server sweeps forward carrying a pig on a tray, with a four-leaf clover close by. In Austrian New Year tradition, both the pig and the clover are symbols of good fortune, so the card is a cheerful toast to luck in the year ahead. The bold black, cream, red and green design is framed with individually cut glass mosaic tiles in coordinating shades.

It’s playful, graphic and a little eccentric, with the turn-of-the-century café spirit of Vienna.

Each magnet is handmade, so the glass placement, grout and finish vary slightly from piece to piece.
