This spider is modeled on the Brazilian Whiteknee tarantula (Acanthoscurria geniculata), a large ground-dwelling species from the Amazon rainforest known for the bright white bands on its black legs. It's hand-shaped from chenille stems and measures about 12 x 12 cm (roughly 4.7 x 4.7 in) across the leg span. Each leg has crisp white bands at the joints, and the body is fuzzy and textured in deep black. The legs are wired, so you can pose them curled, crawling, or spread flat.

Adorable, & versatile. You can do so much more with it than just use it as a hair clip. I clipped it on a shirt, & wore it to the Dentist just for fun. I’ll be adding it to many costumes this year, & in the future. I was pleasantly surprised I was able to manipulate the legs which makes it possible to curve around any where you want to wear it. It can be attached to a necklace, or bracelet, & curve the legs around your wrist. That can’t be done with hard spiders. Happy Halloween everyone!
