Idaho Shaded Relief Map: Satellite Imagery over Real Elevation Data, Natural Color Terrain Print

Idaho rebuilt from real elevation data and laid in true satellite color, set inside a pale relief of the land around it so the state stands out on the wall. The Snake River Plain sweeps in a wide arc across the south with its farmland showing green, the central mountains pack tight above it, and Hells Canyon runs along the western border, deeper than the Grand Canyon. Framed and ready to hang, or print only.

I am a geomorphologist with a PhD in earth science, and every Strabon map starts the same way: real terrain data, cleaned and rebuilt on my own screen before any color goes on. The light angle, the relief shading and the tint are tuned one pass at a time, until the mountains come first and the decoration second. Strabon Maps, drawn from data, finished with a cartographer's eye.

DEPTH YOU CAN SEE, FLAT AS FINE ART
This is a flat print with the presence of a relief model. The depth is painted into the artwork itself: real elevation data, shaded and lit at a low angle, so the terrain rises off the wall while the print stays perfectly flat, light and elegant. You get the drama of a relief model in the form that frames, ships and hangs beautifully.

MADE FROM REAL DATA
Rendered from satellite imagery over Copernicus DEM GLO-30 elevation data. Every ridge, valley and river sits exactly where it sits on Earth.
