When the sun slips down behind the meadow, the wind comes walking through the tall grass — comb… and lay… and still. Page by page it combs the grass a little flatter, while Thistle the rabbit lays down her ears, Sorrel the fox curls into a ball, Hazel the owl smooths her feathers and the Moon pulls a thin cloud up to his chin. Every page repeats one gentle rhythm and slows it a little more, until the grass lies still. A calming wind-down story for ages 2–5, made for the last few minutes before sleep.
