Highlights
A holiday postcard from the town where the first cylinder landed. The front is the postcard lettering, with the machines showing through the town's name. The back is the view: a fighting machine, a red planet, and the heat-ray going straight through “Wish you were here.”
The artwork is genuinely antique: Henrique Alvim Corrêa's illustrations for the 1906 Brussels edition of H. G. Wells's The War of the Worlds, long in the public domain. We restore the scans, build the composition and set the type in-house. Every design in this shop is our own original composition built from authentic vintage artwork.
• FRONT: the postcard lettering for WOKING, with Corrêa's machines inside the letters
• BACK: the fighting machines, Mars in red, the heat-ray and “Wish you were here.”
• Printed BOTH sides in bone-white ink with red on the Comfort Colors 1717, a heavyweight garment-dyed 100% ring-spun cotton tee
• Colors: Black, Pepper, Graphite, Navy, Sapphire, Blue Jean, Blue Spruce, Moss, Espresso, Chili, Crimson, Berry, Violet, or Red (100% ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed; no heathers)
