Turn a walk outside into a discovery. This is a done-for-you, 12-week plan for guiding an 8-12-year-old from noticing their first tree, cloud, and track to leading a real backyard expedition and reporting back to the family, using an AI tutor to do the explaining while you do the leading. You do not need to be a naturalist.

WHAT YOU GET
• 12 deep weekly sessions, each built to actually run for about 60 minutes: a plain-language concept, a concrete worked example, a timed session plan with the AI-tutor prompts built in, a "show me" checkpoint, common mistakes to watch for, and practice to lock it in.
• A "Never used an AI chat assistant? Start here" onboarding that takes a complete beginner from zero to ready in about five minutes. It works with any free AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini). No paid plan needed.
• Four rescue prompts in the front matter for when a session goes sideways: the learner is frustrated or bored, the AI starts naming things instead of teaching, or you want to check the learner really understands.
• A digital guide: no printer, no rubrics to grade. What's inside is the worked examples, session plans, checkpoints, and rescue prompts, not paperwork.

THE 12 WEEKS
1. Becoming a Nature Detective: the art of looking closely
2. Trees and Plants Near You
3. Reading the Sky: clouds and simple weather signs
4. Animal Tracks and Signs
5. Birds by Ear and Eye
6. Bugs and Small Creatures
7. Sun, Moon, and a Few Stars
8. Finding Your Way With Nature
9. Taking Care of Nature: one small stewardship action
10. Backyard Expedition I: Plan It (the learner's first field plan)
11. Backyard Expedition II: Do It
12. Family Nature Demo Day: present, reflect, choose what's next

WHO IT'S FOR
Parents, teachers, and homeschoolers guiding a learner aged roughly 8-12 who'd rather be outside than on a screen, or who needs a nudge to get there. No naturalist background needed, and no AI experience needed either. You lead one ~60-minute session each week, fully scripted: every step is timed and written out for you.

WHY THIS INSTEAD OF A FREE CHATBOT
A raw chatbot will happily just name the tree, the bird, or the cloud for your learner, which teaches nothing and keeps them staring at a phone instead of the sky. This pack ships the structure a chatbot lacks: a real 12-week arc from first glance to a real expedition, Socratic prompts that make the tutor ask "what do you notice?" before it tells, a safety guardrail that keeps hands off wild plants and animals, and checkpoints that prove the learner can read the outdoors themselves. Curriculum + guardrails + a reason to look up. That's the difference.

SAFETY FIRST
An adult supervises every outdoor session in this program, start to finish: choosing safe locations, minding water, heat, sun, wildlife, and terrain, and deciding what's okay to touch. Children should never taste wild plants or berries, and should never approach or touch wild animals; observation is always from a safe distance.

FAQ
• Do I need to be a naturalist? No. The AI tutor explains; you lead, supervise, and choose the location. Every session comes with the exact prompt to start it and a timed plan.
• Which AI does it use? What if I've never used one? Works with any modern AI assistant: ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini. Free versions are enough; no paid plan needed. The guide opens with a "Never used an AI chat assistant? Start here" section that walks complete beginners through setup in about five minutes.
• Is my child's data collected? Not by this guide. It's a digital guide sold to you, the adult, with no login and no child account. You start and supervise each AI session under your own account, and the guide tells you to share only a first name and age.
• Who's responsible if something happens outside? You are. This guide is educational content, not supervision. The adult stays present for every outdoor session, makes the call on water, heat, sun, wildlife, and terrain, and never lets a child taste a wild plant or approach an animal. You assume all risk for outdoor activity undertaken using this guide.
• Does it work outside the US? Yes. The guide is written in US English, and every prompt tells the AI to use your country or region for spelling, units, local species, and examples, and to check your hemisphere for the sky and direction weeks.
• What ages? Roughly 8-12.
• Refunds? Standard marketplace refund policy applies.
