Three reusable stencils for marking traditional sashiko patterns on fabric before you stitch. Lay one down, trace through the slots, connect the dashes, and sew.

WHAT YOU GET
• Hemp leaf (asanoha)
• Waves (seigaiha)
• Seven treasures (shippo)

DETAILS
• Each stencil is 78 × 85 mm (about 3.1 × 3.3 in) and 1.6 mm thick
• Pattern area is 68 × 68 mm (about 2.7 in square)
• Notches on three sides line the stencil up again, so you can repeat the pattern across a larger area
• 5 mm ruler notches along the bottom edge for spacing stitches
• A hole in the corner so the set can hang on a hook or a binder ring (ring not included)
• Slots are 1.6 mm wide, so use a marking tool with a tip finer than that
• Each stencil carries a small Schank Studio mark on the back

COLOR
Magenta, as shown. All three stencils in a set are the same color. It stands out on denim and on light fabric. Colors can look a little different on your screen.

HOW TO USE
1. Place the stencil flat on the fabric and hold it steady.
2. Trace through each slot with your fabric marking tool.
3. Lift the stencil and connect the dashes to finish the lines.
4. To continue the pattern, line up the notches with the marks you just made and trace again.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Printed to order in PLA, a plant-based plastic. It is sturdy indoors but softens in high heat, so do not iron over it or leave it in a hot car.
• Fine layer lines are a normal part of a 3D-printed piece.
• Fabric, thread, needles, and marking tools are not included.
• These are traditional Japanese patterns that have been used in sashiko for generations. The stencil layout is our own original design.
