Hearthside Ribbed Baubles – Christmas Crochet Ornament Pattern
Create a cozy set of handmade Christmas tree decorations with the Hearthside Ribbed Baubles Crochet Pattern.
This downloadable digital PDF guides you through making a beautifully textured ribbed Christmas bauble using one easy-to-repeat construction, presented in three festive colorways: pine green, warm ivory, and cranberry red.

Each finished ornament combines a soft crochet bauble with a natural cotton hanging loop, wooden bead, oatmeal linen bow, and small wooden star charm for a warm, rustic Christmas look.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS LISTING IS FOR A DIGITAL CROCHET PATTERN ONLY. NO FINISHED PHYSICAL ORNAMENT WILL BE SHIPPED.

🎄 Three Festive Color Versions
The pattern shows the same ribbed bauble construction in three coordinated Christmas colors.
Pine Green — a deep forest-inspired ornament for traditional and woodland Christmas décor.
Warm Ivory — a soft neutral version that works beautifully with natural, rustic, Scandinavian-inspired, and minimalist holiday styling.
Cranberry Red — a rich festive red colorway for a classic Christmas look.
Each version uses the same 32-row construction and finishing method so the finished trio remains coordinated in shape and size.

🧶 About the Construction
The bauble begins as a tapered ribbed crochet panel.
The panel is worked across 32 rows, using slip stitches at both ends and half double crochet through the center. From Row 2 onward, stitches are worked in the back loops only to create the pronounced ribbed texture.

The completed panel is then sewn into a tube, gathered at the lower end, filled, fitted with the hanging cord, and gathered closed at the top.
The wooden bead, linen bow, and star charm are added at the end as decorative finishing details.

The pattern mainly uses chain, slip stitch, half double crochet, back loop only, and fastening off.

🇺🇸 Crochet Terminology
The pattern is written using US crochet terms.

📏 Finished Size
Each completed bauble measures approximately:
7–8 cm across, excluding the bead and hanging loop.
The relaxed crochet panel is approximately 12 cm through the center and 23–25 cm across the 32 rows before assembly.
Finished dimensions may vary depending on yarn, crochet tension, filling, and hook size.

🧵 Materials Needed
For one bauble, the pattern recommends approximately 20–25 g of DK / Light Category 3 cotton yarn in pine green, warm ivory, or cranberry.
You will also need a 3.5 mm crochet hook, blunt yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers, approximately 5–8 g polyester filling, natural cotton cord or soft twine, one approximately 16 mm wooden bead, oatmeal linen ribbon, one small wooden star charm, and thin cotton thread for attaching the star.

🎁 Great For
This pattern works beautifully for handmade Christmas tree ornaments, rustic holiday decorations, stocking fillers, festive craft projects, handmade gift projects, natural Christmas décor, woodland-inspired holiday decorating, and coordinated ornament sets.
The finished ornaments have a particularly cozy handmade look thanks to the combination of ribbed crochet texture, natural cord, wood, and linen.
