Morgan le Fay Print, Frederick Sandys 1864 Pre Raphaelite Wall Art, Arthurian Legend Witch Poster

King Arthur's half-sister, casting a spell on the robe meant to kill him.

ABOUT THE PAINTING
Frederick Sandys painted Morgan le Fay in 1864. She stands at her loom in a leopard skin, a lamp burning beside her. In Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, she sends Arthur a poisoned cloak. Sandys shows the moment the curse goes into the cloth.

Sandys was one of the most skilled painters of the Pre Raphaelite circle and a close friend of Rossetti. The original hangs in Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

THE LOOK
Flame-red hair, deep greens and the gold of the lamp. Intense, rich and full of menace. Pre Raphaelite wall art suited to a dark academia study or library wall.

THE PRINT

Sizes: A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, plus 12x16, 18x24 and 24x36 inches. Custom sizes on request. Frames: black, white or oak, or unframed.

Printed locally in the UK, Europe, the US, Canada and Australia, at the location closest to you. Free tracked shipping, no customs fees.
