WHAT IT DOES
- Setup: type your total budget, guest count and the names of the people paying. Rank each category group from 1 to 5 and the sheet suggests a split from your ranks, then tells you plainly whether you are over, under or on budget. Prefer a starting point? Switch to typical percentages.
- Budget: 88 lines are ready, including the costs people forget (vendor tips, rehearsal dinner, alterations, postage, service charges and taxes, delivery and setup fees, a contingency cushion) plus 24 spare rows. Estimate, quote and actual for each, how far over or under, what is paid and what is still owed, the vendor, and who pays.
- Payments: log each deposit and installment with its due date and the date you paid it. A list shows the next payments due, earliest first, with overdue payments in orange and a total for the next 30 days.
- Who Pays: for each person, what they owe in total, what they have paid and what is still owed, set against what they pledged.
- Guests: cost per guest, which costs grow with every extra guest, and a what-if for adding or cutting guests.
- Phone View: two columns and large type. Budget, committed, paid, still owed, the verdict and the next three payments.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Set up your budget, guests, payers and priorities.
2. Fill in the budget: estimate, then quote, then actual.
3. Log the payments and watch what is due.

- Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer (2019, 2021 and Microsoft 365 too), on Windows or Mac
- Google Sheets (free): upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets
- Your phone: the Excel or Google Sheets app
- No macros, no add-ons, no subscription. 1,825 live formulas using standard functions only.
