Book Tracker Spreadsheet | Reading Journal with Goal & Series (Excel, Google Sheets)

Log a book once. Your reading goal, series, monthly wrap-up and year in books fill in by themselves. A book tracker spreadsheet and reading journal for Excel and Google Sheets.

Works in Excel 2016 and newer (Windows and Mac) and Google Sheets. Instant download, no macros, no app or subscription.

WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We read 1,100 buyer reviews of best-selling book tracker spreadsheets and fixed what they kept mentioning:

✔ "The Excel version crashed or lost its formulas." This is a real .xlsx with classic formulas, tested in Excel 2016+ and Google Sheets and checked against a separate reference model.
✔ "Every cell is locked." Nothing is locked where you type. Add your own genres, formats and sources; sort, filter, hide or rename columns.
✔ "It doesn't track series." Series fill in by themselves, with your progress and the next book to read.
✔ "No reading goal or monthly stats." Yearly goal with your pace ("3 books ahead of schedule"), plus a monthly wrap-up with your book of the month.
✔ "Nowhere for library books." Due dates, with overdue and due-soon alerts on the dashboard.
✔ "Took a while to figure out." One list to fill in. Every other page updates itself.
✔ "I own it in two formats." Just add it twice: hardcover, paperback, ebook or audiobook.
✔ Year in review: favorite, longest and fastest read, top authors and genres. Plus 4 color themes.

WHAT'S INSIDE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• DASHBOARD: books and pages read, average rating, days per book, goal progress bars, currently reading, library loans, top rated, books finished by month.
• LIBRARY: up to 1,000 books with title, author, series and number, genre, format, pages, source, status, dates, rating (half stars), price, due date and notes. Days to read, pages per day and stars fill in.
• MONTHLY WRAP-UP: pick a month for books finished, pages, average rating, books started, DNF, book of the month and the full list.
• SERIES: every series with books read, reading now, progress, next up and status.
• TBR & WISHLIST: up next on your shelf, books to borrow from the library, and a wishlist with prices and a total.
• YEAR IN BOOKS: 12 months, highlights, and statistics by genre, format, source and author.
• SETUP: reading goal, optional page goal, year, due-soon warning, color theme, your genres, formats and sources.

HOW IT WORKS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
1. Set your reading goal on SETUP.
2. Add your books on LIBRARY. Title and status are enough to start; add dates and a rating when you finish.
3. That's it. The dashboard, wrap-up, series, TBR and year pages update by themselves.
