My dog is in the water a lot. How well do your tags hold up?

Our tags are cut from C-260 brass and sealed with an industrial clear lacquer made for protecting outdoor metals against moisture, wear and UV rays. This will provide good protection, but it is not eternal. If the tag rubs against another tag, the coating will eventually wear off and you will notice a change in the patina of that area. And like all unprotected metal, the area will then be susceptible to corrosion from pool chlorine, and salt water to a lesser extent. This of course depends on the amount of time exposed and whether or not you rinse the tag after exposure. It wouldn't hurt to periodically buff the tag and re-seal with a very light clear spray.
