Personalised Peter Rabbit Nursery Print, Beatrix Potter Quote with Baby Name and Date, Christening Gift, New Baby Gift

A personalised Peter Rabbit nursery print: the four little rabbits at home in the sand-bank under the fir tree, with your baby's name and date, in the style of a Randolph Caldecott colour wood engraving.

Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits.

The first line of The Tale of Peter Rabbit is one of our favourite ways to begin a child's story, with their name beneath.

THE SCENE
From The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter (1902). Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter. They lived with their mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir-tree. The print sets that first line beneath the rabbits, with a plain band for your baby's name and date.

THE INSPIRATION
The look comes from Randolph Caldecott's The Diverting History of John Gilpin (1878), the colour wood engravings that set the pattern for the English picture book: the light line, the flat colour and the humour. The rabbits and the tree are my own.

BORDERED OR FULL BLEED
Same price either way. Bordered has a cream border and caption, and the A4 and A3 sizes carry a small QR code: scan it and your family, friends and guests can see the story behind the print on their phones. Full bleed runs the picture right to the edge.

MAKE IT THEIRS
Add your baby's name and date in the box at checkout, and they are set in the plain band at the foot of the print in the same lettering as the story line. Please check the spelling, as the print is made exactly as you type it.

HOW IT'S MADE
A print of a digital artwork in the style of a Victorian colour wood engraving, not an original. Each carries my printed Chapter & Scene signature.
