Thirteen animated chat boxes in one widget, one for every kind of stream. Each template is its own design, with its own card, lettering, light and the way a message arrives: a gold rule draws itself round a black lacquer card, a neon tube strikes on in one clean stroke, ice freezes across a pane, a jelly sweet drops and wobbles, ivy grows along a sheet of handmade paper, a candle is lit beside a parchment note. Switch looks any time from the widget's settings; your chat keeps flowing.

THE 13 TEMPLATES

• Gilt: black lacquer and gold leaf, with an engraved gold seal on every alert.
• Halo: glass neon tubes in each chatter's colour, glowing on the wall behind your chat.
• Frost: slabs of cut ice with frost feathering in from the corners, and a different snowflake for each alert.
• Sugar: sugar-sanded jelly sweets that drop in and wobble; alerts arrive as wrapped bonbons.
• Grove: ivy and wild flowers on deep green handmade paper, with sunlight drifting through leaves.
• Paper: torn notebook paper and washi tape, with an inked rubber stamp for every alert.
• Signal: a crisp cockpit instrument panel with signal bars and readouts.
• Arcade: a glowing green CRT terminal; messages type themselves out.
• Candle: candlelit parchment with a little candle stub on every note and wax seals on alerts. Cozy gothic.
• Pixel: a 16-bit RPG dialogue window, and every chatter gets their own little pixel portrait.
• Hearth: a watercolour storybook village at golden hour, with fireflies and festival bunting on alerts.
• Rune: dark stone with carved runes that fill with molten gold, and rising embers.
• Idol: an anime idol stage for VTubers, with name ribbons, stage beams and a sea of light sticks on a raid.

ANY COLOUR

Colour shift turns a template's own colours round the colour wheel with one slider: Rune's runes can burn gold, green or ice blue, Arcade's terminal can glow green, amber or cyan, and Gilt's frame can turn from gold to blue or rose. The design stays the same; only its colours move.

THREE LAYOUTS

• Column: in any corner of your screen, newest at the bottom or the top.
• Strip: a row along the top or bottom edge, newest on the side you pick.
• 3D tilt: the column turned in perspective, like a screen floating beside your game. You choose the angle.

WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR CHAT

• Every message arrives the template's own way, with the chatter's own name colour, adjusted so it always reads.
• Twitch badges show, including your channel's own sub badges. On Kick, mods, VIPs, subs and you get the template's own role marks.
• Emotes: Twitch emotes, plus BetterTTV, FrankerFaceZ and 7TV when they're turned on in your StreamElements dashboard. Animated emotes keep playing, a message of only emotes shows them big, and a wall of emotes stays neat.
• A viewer's first message in your chat gets a "first message" label (Twitch).
• A message highlighted with channel points stands out, and a message that @s you is marked so you spot it mid-game.
• The same chatter again within 20 seconds grows their card instead of adding a new one (in the column).
• A message a mod deletes, or a viewer who gets timed out, leaves your chat too.

ALERTS IN THE CHAT

Follows, subs and resubs, gift subs, cheers, tips and raids arrive as their own card, drawn the template's way, with the number big and the viewer's message under their name. Turn them off with one switch.

MAKE IT YOURS: 19 SETTINGS

Template, layout, position, tilt angle, size, colour shift (turns a template's colours round the colour wheel), effects (full, or low power for a busy PC), messages on screen, hide after a number of seconds, hide !commands, ignored users (your bots), chatters' own name colours on or off, badges, pronouns, your own message font (any Google Font), alerts on or off, and your Kick channel. Plus two preview buttons that play a demo right in StreamElements.

REQUIREMENTS

• A free StreamElements account.
• OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or any streaming app with a browser source.
• Twitch and Kick.

GOOD TO KNOW

• It runs as a StreamElements custom widget: you add it to an overlay in StreamElements and show that overlay in your streaming app. It doesn't import into Streamlabs' own widgets.
• Kick chat needs your Kick channel name in the settings (leave it blank if you signed in to StreamElements with Kick).
• The effects use your graphics card. If your game needs every bit of it, set Effects to Low power: every template keeps its look without the glow and particles.
• Colours look a little different from screen to screen. No sounds are included.
• It's a digital download: nothing is shipped.
