MIDNIGHT LUGGAGE MIX-UP: a printable mystery escape room party game for teens and adults, with no crime in it
At midnight the night sleeper to Goldpoint braked hard, every case slid off its rack, and every luggage tag came off its string. The night porter (a snail called Slowcombe, who has never lost his own luggage) picked up all twelve tags and dropped them in the water bucket. Now the Company's iron rule applies: nobody leaves the train until every case has its owner. The doors open when the Last Case clicks. You have 75 minutes.

THIS IS A MYSTERY ESCAPE ROOM PARTY GAME, played with printed tickets, puzzle pages, envelopes, tag cards and an evidence file at a table or around the house. It is not a book and not a worksheet pack. There is no crime in it: nothing is taken and nobody is accused. It is a mix-up, and logic sorts it out.
You get an evidence file: tickets, luggage tags, a sleeper plan, a timetable and a baggage sheet. Read it like a detective.
Every solved puzzle wins a luggage tag. Collect all 12 to find every owner and open the Last Case.
Needs only paper, scissors and tape. No special paper or pens.

HOW IT PLAYS
- Every player is a passenger with a ticket: a name, a part to play, a line to say, something they remember and something they saw
- The passengers of each sleeper coach form a crew: Coach A, Coach B and Coach C. Each crew solves four puzzles, side by side, so nobody waits
- Every puzzle is a different kind and gives a code. The crew finds its code on the Departures Board. Same sign as on the puzzle page? The code is right, and the next envelope may be opened
- Inside waits a wet luggage tag: a weight, and a few words about its owner that can still be read
- With four tags, its four tickets and the evidence file, a crew works out whose case is whose. One clue is held by a passenger of another coach, so the crews have to talk
- Each tag is laid on its owner's ticket. The tags have one corner cut off, and the cut corners show the crew's rack code
- The three rack codes open the Last Case, which everybody solves together. Then twelve gold letters spell the last four words, to call out like a station announcer
- No host is needed to check answers. A full host guide is included

16 PUZZLES, EASY TO HARDER
- 12 tag puzzles of 12 different kinds: Weigh Stack, Sticker Stack, Punch Code, The Three-Dial Lock, Which Berth?, Flip the Points, Loose Tags, The Unknown Case, The Supper Bill, Spot the Swap, Coupling Stack, Label Trail
- Then three Whose Case? logic grids and the Last Case finale
- 7 kinds of math pyramid puzzle: decimals (Weigh Stack), pictures for numbers (Sticker Stack), a number bank (Loose Tags), call-it-x algebra (The Unknown Case), mixed plus, minus and times signs (Coupling Stack), a Pyramid Maze where each step shares a digit (Label Trail) and a team pyramid that needs all three crews (The Last Case)
- 7 more kinds: a ticket-punch cipher, a three-dial lock to reason out, a sleeper plan to read, railway points that flip under every wagon, a supper bill with one wrong line, a spot-the-swap picture, and the evidence logic grid
- The maths is for ages 12 and up: decimals, the 24-hour clock, times tables, one unknown. Each puzzle sits a step below the top of the age band, so a crew can finish it together

PAPER PROPS TO CUT OUT
- 12 luggage tags to win, each with one corner to snip off
- 12 tickets, two to a page, with a tag place: the right tag on the right ticket shows one digit through its cut corner
- 3 crew cards and 9 whistle tokens

NOBODY GETS STUCK
- Every code is checked on the Departures Board: a likely mistake shows the wrong sign, or is not there at all
- Three hints for every puzzle: a nudge, the method, the answer. A hint costs a whistle token, and the whole crew must sound like a train whistle to fetch it
- An answer card, every solution explained, and every puzzle shown solved
- If the 75 minutes run out, nobody loses: everybody has to talk like a station announcement until the Last Case is open

WHAT YOU GET (instant download, 5 PDF files)
- The kit, US Letter (55 pages)
- The kit, A4 (55 pages)
- A tablet copy of the kit for the host, with HINTS and ANSWER buttons on every puzzle
- Party extras, US Letter and A4 (6 pages each): invitations, luggage-tag place cards and thank-you tags with type-in names, a door sign, four photo-booth signs to hold up for photos and four travelling games
- Free bonus folder (QR code inside): The Return Journey, a bonus round of 6 expert puzzles (14 pages, with 2 more kinds of math pyramid: Frost on the Line and Two Wrong Tags), and an ink-saver edition of the whole kit

INSIDE THE KIT
- Host guide: what to print, how to fill the envelopes, a step-by-step script, a planning page for small and big groups, and a timer sheet
- The briefing to read aloud and five things every passenger should know
- The evidence file (3 sheets), 12 tickets, the Departures Board
- 12 puzzle pages, 12 luggage tags, three Whose Case? pages and the Last Case
- The ending to read aloud, with what was in every case, and certificates with type-in names
- 16 posters for the walls and 19 envelope labels

GOOD TO KNOW
- Digital download only: nothing is shipped.
- Ages 12 to adult. 3 to 12 players: three crews of 1 to 4. Best with 6 to 12.
- About 75 minutes of play with three crews, 90 with the story and the ending. One small crew that plays everything needs about two and a half hours, or about 100 minutes with the shorter game in the host guide.
- You need a printer (colour looks best), 19 envelopes, scissors, pencils, 3 paper clips and tape. About an hour to print, cut and fill the envelopes.
- Print at 100% (actual size), on one side of the paper.
- Play times are plans, not promises: the puzzles are checked by computer, but no real party has timed this game for us. Hints keep every crew moving.
- A mystery without a crime: nothing is taken, nobody lies, nobody is hurt. No alcohol, no romance, nothing scary. Good for a mixed table of teens, parents and grandparents, a youth club or a team evening.
- Not suitable for children under 3 (small paper parts).
- Love math pyramids? Creouts Publishing also publishes math pyramid puzzle books in paperback (search "Creouts Publishing" on Amazon).
