Printable spring nature study for kids ages 5 to 11: 4 weeks of buds and sap, nesting birds and song, pond life, and rain, clouds and sky.
One theme a week: three sessions of 20 to 40 minutes plus a short daily check, each with its pages listed. Every activity page has two levels, so a kindergartner and a fourth grader can share one sheet.
Made for the East and Midwest, with a West & South swaps page: the Western and Mountain Bluebird, the Pacific chorus frog, the long-toed salamander, the southern leopard frog, and a second Bud Watch where nights don't freeze.
Instant download: nothing is shipped. You download PDFs and print them at home, in color or ink-saver. If anything doesn't work for you, message us and we'll fix it.

Inside the Parent Guide:

WHY IT WORKS
The two levels are on the same sheet: K-2 draw and tell, 3-5 measure and write. And the rain gauge is real size: printed at 100%, from 1 to 2 on the ruler is exactly 1 inch, in US Letter and in A4, so the rain your child measures is real rain in real inches.

GOOD TO KNOW
A grown-up comes on every outing, and the Safe & Kind page covers ticks, nests and egg masses (look, never lift). Each week has one short walk, one public-domain poem to read aloud and one picture (a painting or a print) to look at on a screen. Every fact was checked against named sources, listed in the Guide with their addresses, among them the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Weather Service.

ALSO IN OUR SHOP
• Winter Nature Study: actual-size animal tracks, winter twigs, feeder birds and snowflakes, the same 4-week format
• Tree & Leaf ID: 24 US trees by leaf, edge, twig and seed
• Actual-Size Animal Tracks Field Cards: 10 tracks to lay beside the real thing

QUESTIONS
Q: Is this a physical item? No. It is a digital download; you print it yourself.
Q: Is it a full curriculum? It is a 4-week unit study: one theme a week, three sessions plus a short daily check.
Q: We live in the West or the South. Will it work? Yes, with the swaps page: the cards are for the East and Midwest, and the swaps page gives your local bird, frog and salamander for each week. In a classroom, the dawn, dusk and night sessions go home as family sessions.
Q: Can siblings of different ages use it together? Yes. Every activity page has a K-2 level and a 3-5 level together at the top.
