Seller's description

An executor spreadsheet: forty tasks dated from the death, who to tell, assets and debts, every payment, and what each beneficiary is due.

EXECUTOR FILE · 2026
Nivor Systems · Excel and Google Sheets
──────────────────────────────────────────────

Being an executor is a year of small jobs and other people's money. Keep it all in one place.

Settling an estate means dozens of tasks with deadlines, a long list of organisations to tell, accounts to close, bills to pay, your own receipts to claim back, and beneficiaries waiting to be paid. Most of it lands on one person, often while grieving, and the hardest question comes last: how much can you safely pay out, and when?

This file keeps the whole estate in one workbook. The tasks come with due dates counted from the date of death. Every organisation you tell gets a chase date. Every payment goes in a log with its receipt. And the share-out works out what each beneficiary is due, what they have had, and how much cash can go out today with debts, costs and tax held back.

WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS
• A spreadsheet template: one Excel workbook (.xlsx) with seven tabs that also opens in Google Sheets.
• Not an app, not a printable binder, not legal forms. No macros, no add-ons, no account, no subscription.
• Works in any country: the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Europe and beyond. Set your currency (USD, CAD, GBP, AUD, EUR…) in one cell. Deadlines are yours to set, because they differ by country and state.
• It never asks for a full account number. Type more than four digits and the cell turns red.
• A filled-in worked example is included: an imaginary father's estate, his daughter as executor, two children sharing the rest and two cash gifts, in US dollars, with every check working.

THE FIVE TABS
✓ 1 Tasks — forty tasks most estates need, from the death certificate to closing the estate account, each due a set number of days after the death. Change the days to the deadlines where you live. Overdue turns red; due soon turns amber.
✓ 2 Who to tell — a starting list of 26 organisations: tax office, benefits, banks, pensions, insurers, utilities, phone, email and social media. When you told each one, whether you sent the death certificate, the reply, and a red chase flag when no reply has come.
✓ 3 Assets and debts — everything owned and owed at the date of death, how each is held (sole name, joint, named beneficiary, trust), what passes outside the estate, items left as gifts, and what is still to value, collect or pay.
✓ 4 Money in and out — every payment in and out with its category, the estate account balance after each one, payments with no receipt, and what you paid from your own pocket and are owed back.
✓ 5 Beneficiaries — cash gifts and shares of the rest, items left to each person, what each has been paid, what is still owed, and how much is safe to pay out now. A beneficiary paid too much turns red, and so do shares that do not add up to 100%.
★ Summary — the estate account: the estate at the date of death, money received and paid by kind, what is still to settle, each beneficiary's position and what is still to do, on one printable page.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE
One ZIP file, downloadable the moment you pay, containing three files:
1. Executor-File.xlsx — the file, blank, with the forty tasks and 26 organisations listed
2. Executor-File-Worked-Example.xlsx — the same workbook filled in for an imaginary estate
3. Executor-File-Quick-Start.pdf — two pages: opening it in Excel or Google Sheets, filling it in, reading the colours

HOW IT WORKS
1. Excel: open the .xlsx. Google Sheets: upload it to Google Drive, then Open with › Google Sheets. Every formula and drop-down works the same.
2. Type the name, the date of death, your name and your currency. The tasks get their due dates.
3. Fill in the tabs as the estate goes: who you have told, what there is, each payment as it happens.
4. Before paying anyone, check tab 5. Print the Summary for the beneficiaries.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
The honest part, because a buyer who would have been disappointed is better off knowing now:
— It is not legal or tax advice. It does not know who inherits without a will, the order debts must be paid in, or the deadlines where the person lived.
— It has no court or tax forms for any country.
— It is not a password manager and never holds full account numbers.
— It holds 60 tasks, 60 organisations, 70 assets and debts, 250 payments and 15 beneficiaries.
— It is a spreadsheet, not a decorative printable.
— It is a digital download only. Nothing is posted.

WHO IT IS FOR
• Executors and administrators doing it themselves
• Adult children settling a parent's estate
• Co-executors who need one set of records
• Anyone who must show beneficiaries an account

An executor spreadsheet and executor checklist in one: a probate checklist and probate organizer for the estate executor, an after death checklist and death checklist for the first weeks, and estate accounting with an estate inventory for estate settlement. Works as an executor binder in google sheets or as an excel template.

PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF
— You want legal advice or court forms
— A firm is handling the whole estate for you
