A golden eagle on a winter perch in the bare hardwoods of the Hudson Valley — photographed in the field on February 21, 2025, then finished by hand and machine into a maison plate: the bird stays a true photograph while the branches below dissolve into vintage engraving.

Drawn from a working wildlife biologist's own field archive — no stock, no borrowed images. This is the Sturges method: real animal, real place, finished like a plate from a natural-history folio.

— REAL FIELD PHOTOGRAPHY — NOT AI PHOTOGRAPHY —
Every print in this shop starts as my own real wildlife photography, shot by me in the field. The animals are real, the places are real, and the photograph is mine. Nothing here is AI-generated photography, and no animal in this shop was invented by a computer. I use digital tools — including AI tools, the way photographers use Photoshop — only to finish my own photographs, blending the true photo with a subtle abstract, vintage-engraving treatment. Photorealism from the field, finished in the studio.

— INSTANT DOWNLOAD —
This is a digital file. No physical item ships. Buy, download, print at home or at any local or online print shop, frame, hang.

— WHAT YOU GET —
One ZIP with 5 print-ready JPG ratios at 300 DPI: 3:2, 4:3, 5:4, 7:5 and ISO A-series — sizes from 5×7″ up to 16×20″ / A3 (the file is happiest at 16×20″ or smaller), plus a printable field note with the story of the frame and our Print Sustainably guide.

— SUSTAINABILITY & OUR PLEDGE —
Digital only: no paper, ink, packaging or freight spent to make or deliver this art. Each piece begins as the photographer's own field photograph, finished with a vintage-engraving treatment using AI tools under a wildlife biologist's direction, checked against the real animal, and disclosed as such. Maison Sturges gives 10% of net profit to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), with quarterly giving reports posted in this shop so buyers can track every contribution. One earth.
