Seller's description

Pass a prize bag around the circle and let the story decide who is Captain. A winter classroom pass-the-present game for kids: three original LEFT/RIGHT stories plus four "pass it to someone who..." rhyme games about snow days, hot cocoa, snowmen and a cozy classroom, with no holiday words at all. For winter class parties, snow-day fun, after-school clubs, scout and library groups, and family game nights.

EVERY CHILD WINS: STORY TURNS AND PRINTED CARDS (CLASSES OF 20-30)

In a LEFT/RIGHT story, use three evenly spaced passing objects and follow every printed cue so every child holds an object at least once. After the game, give each child a printed Snow Star card; print three copies of the 10-card sheet for 22 children. Rhymes use one object, may revisit the same children and do not guarantee everyone a holding turn. Optional Captain Finder rounds give every child a Captain turn across several days; for 22 children, plan eight rounds. Captain Finder chooses winners, so skip it for surprise endings. Physical prizes and passing objects are not included.

THE SEVEN GAMES
LEFT/RIGHT stories (pass one seat on every LEFT or RIGHT):
- The Mitten Mix-Up: a missing red mitten, a helpful friend and a snowman with a secret.
- The Snowy Bus Route: a bus, a sled and a snowy trip where detours keep the navigators guessing.
- The Cocoa Cart: a squeaky cart, a paper penguin and one very busy lunch helper.
Pass-the-present rhymes (pass to the player each verse describes):
- Snow Day Morning
- Hot Cocoa Break
- The Snowman Builders
- Cozy Classroom
Rhymes select players by descriptions such as clothing, preferences or smiling; the same child may be chosen more than once.

HOW TO PLAY
Gather a reader plus 4-30 players in a circle. Stories: the reader reads aloud and everyone passes one seat for every LEFT or RIGHT, even when the word means something else ("she LEFT the room"). Pause after each cue. At THE END, stop; with exactly 13 players (Mitten), 17 (Bus) or 19 (Cocoa), call "One more LEFT!" and pass once more first. Then the holder is Captain. For 13-30 players in a story, use three presents spaced as evenly as possible; all three holders are Captains. Rhymes always use one present, whatever the group size: read one verse, pass the present to someone who fits, and keep going. Ask who fits, counting the starting holder. Count seats both ways to the nearest other player who fits; equal distance, pass toward LEFT. If no other player fits, pass LEFT one seat. Whoever holds it after the last verse is Captain.

The stories have 39, 43 and 49 cues with frequent reversals. Different route lengths do not guarantee different Captains: each route can land on the same child in back-to-back rounds. Optional Captain Finder rounds deliberately schedule every child for a Captain turn across several days; use that option when you want planned winners, and skip it when you want a surprise ending. When every cue is followed, one present reaches every player for groups of 4-12; three evenly spaced presents together reach every player for 13-30. With exactly 13 (Mitten), 17 (Bus) or 19 (Cocoa) players a present can finish on its own starter, so the printed rule adds one more LEFT after THE END; all other sizes end on new seats. Optional Captain rounds take 7-10 stories across several days; the final round may use fewer presents. We checked this by simulating every starting seat, and we simulated the Captain Finder for every class size from 20 to 30; it is a route check, not a promise that every seat has the same chance of winning, and we have not timed it with live groups. Allow about 4-6 minutes per story and 3-5 per rhyme including pauses; timings are estimates.
