Seller's description

Psychodynamic cheat sheets for the ten minutes after a session, when something happened in the room and you want a map, not a textbook.

I'm Alberto Del Bove, a psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapist in private practice in Rome. Most quick references for therapists come from CBT, DBT or IFS. This is the psychodynamic one I wanted on my own desk: the concepts I return to most often, one page each, with the sources close at hand.

WHAT'S INSIDE (18-page PDF, 13 one-page sheets)
00 · Reading the demand: request vs. demand, collusion and collusive modes, five questions for the first meetings (after Carli & Paniccia's analysis of the demand)
01 · Defense mechanisms I: mature and neurotic, with how each sounds in session and how to work with it
02 · Defense mechanisms II: immature and primitive (splitting, projective identification, dissociation...)
03 · Working with defenses: six principles, the triangle of conflict, the triangle of person, phrases that help
04 · Transference patterns: idealizing, devaluing, dependent, mirroring, rivalrous, erotic, "nothing happens"
05 · Countertransference: what you feel, what it may point to, what to do (concordant vs. complementary)
06 · Attachment strategies in the room: secure, dismissing, preoccupied, unresolved, and their pull on you
07 · Rupture and repair: withdrawal vs. confrontation ruptures, a six-step repair sequence
08 · Resistance, reframed: four questions, moves that help and moves that backfire
09 · Breaks and endings: before, during and after the break, reactions by attachment strategy
10 · The frame, and what crosses it: fees, contact, gifts, social media, recording, AI tools and chatbots
11 · Psychodynamic case formulation on one page (printable template)
12 · Session reflection note for supervision prep (printable template)
+ Key references (Bowlby, Carli & Paniccia, Gabbard, Kernberg, Malan, McWilliams, Racker, Safran & Muran, Vaillant...)
+ Further reading and About the author
