Christmas budget spreadsheet for UK shoppers, in pounds, for Google Sheets and Excel. Give everyone on your list a budget, then see what you've spent against it as the presents add up.

Every gift goes in one list with who it's for, what it cost and where it's up to: idea, bought or wrapped. Each bought gift gets a return-by date next to it, so a present that doesn't suit can still go back to the shop in time.

WHAT IT DOES
- Budget per person: set an amount for each person (room for 40) and compare it with what you've spent, with totals for the whole list
- Gift list for up to 150 gifts: the gift, who it's for, where it's from, the price and a status of idea, bought or wrapped
- Return-by date for each bought gift, worked out from the day you bought it and the return window (28 days unless you change it)
- Alerts when a return date is within 7 days, has passed, or falls before Christmas Day
- Summary: total budget, spent so far, left to spend, gifts still to buy, days until Christmas and a budget vs spent chart
- UK spelling and £ throughout
- Works in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel

WHAT'S INCLUDED
- Christmas Budget and Gift Tracker - Sample.xlsx (with example data)
- Christmas Budget and Gift Tracker - Blank.xlsx (ready for your data)
- 1-page PDF quick-start guide

HOW IT WORKS
1. Settings: check the Christmas year and your usual return window.
2. People: add each person and the budget you want to spend on them.
3. Gifts: add each idea, then change the status to Bought (with the date) and Wrapped as you go.
4. Summary: see your totals, each person's budget and the return dates to watch.

WORKS WITH
- Microsoft Excel 2010 or later (Windows and Mac)
- Google Sheets: File > Import > Upload the .xlsx (free Google account needed)
- No macros, add-ons or subscriptions

PLEASE NOTE
- This is a digital download. Nothing will be posted to you.
- Download on a computer: some phone apps can't download files.
- Yellow cells are for your data; grey cells calculate and are protected (no password) so formulas aren't overwritten by accident.
- This is a tracker and organiser, not tax, legal or financial advice.
- For your own personal use. Please don't resell or share the files.

Made with AI help: our small team designed this tool and used AI tools to help draft formulas, layout and text. Every formula was then checked by a full recalculation with example data and with the blank copy.
