Highlights

The real night sky over your city on the date that matters to you: the night you met, your wedding, a first home or the day a baby arrived. Each star is placed where it stood at that minute, for any city in the world.

WHAT YOU GET
• Your star map in 6 sizes: 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, 16×20, A4 and A3
• Two looks for every size: night navy, or light cream that uses little ink on a home printer
• One PDF per look with every size inside, the 8×10 as a 300 dpi JPG in both looks, and a printing guide
• On the print: the date, the time, your city and its coordinates, and your own line

HOW TO ORDER
1. In Personalization, type the date, the time if you know it (we use 9 PM if you don't), the city and your line.
2. We make your map within 1 to 2 business days. Etsy emails you when the files are ready to download.
3. Print at home or at any photo lab or print shop.

WHAT'S ON THE MAP
• More than 1,200 stars down to magnitude 5.5, about what your eyes can pick out on a clear night away from city lights, each sized by how bright it looks
• Lines that join the stars of each constellation, and the Milky Way drawn where it crossed your sky
• The view is straight up, with north at the top and east on the left, the way the sky looks when you lie on your back with your head to the north

GOOD TO KNOW
• The names in the photos are made up.
• Star positions come from the Yale Bright Star Catalogue (NASA's HEASARC archive) and are worked out for your date, time and city with astronomy-engine, an open source astronomy library. Constellation lines: d3-celestial by Olaf Frohn.
• Designed by SoeSan Holdings LLC. The layout was built with the help of AI tools. The star positions come from astronomy math, not AI.
• Digital files only. Nothing is shipped, and no frame is included.
