A dark collage with a red brush stripe, an ink-drawn Mount Fuji and the chrome and red GT-R badge across the top gives the artwork presence across a room. The silver GT-R, low and seen from its front corner, with a side view and a wheel close-up below it, invites a closer look. Above a desk or in a garage lounge, it's a conversation piece for anyone who knows what that name means.

The subject is a 2009 Nissan GT-R (R35) in silver with a black interior, dark six-spoke wheels, GT-R badges on the grille and front wings and the vents behind the front wheels. Its 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6, each engine assembled by hand by one technician, drives all four wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox mounted at the rear.

Every car was a drawing before it was a car. We start with the finished car and draw it back to that first decision, until the proportion is honest and the stance is right and you would know it from across the room without a badge.
