★ THE HISTORY
Long said to have flown at the Battle of Bennington. The surviving flag is at the Bennington Museum.
Where historians disagree: The museum dates the surviving flag to about 1812-1830, and its machine-woven cotton points to the 19th century. No 1777 account mentions it.

A thoughtful gift for history lovers, teachers, veterans, re-enactors and anyone marking the 250th this Christmas.
