THE MYSTERY
Tomorrow is the Pirate Fair on Treasure Cove… but the chest of golden doubloons (a prize for every child of the village!) has vanished from Captain Marigold's ship. Four pirates of her crew were on board this morning.
• Your young pirates solve a puzzle on each hidden treasure card.
• Every answer is a number. They find it on the Treasure Map, which shows where the next card is hidden.
• A small sign on each card lets them check their answer before they run off.
• Along the way they find 3 pieces of evidence: a shirt thread, a hat and footprints in the wet sand.
• They name who hid the treasure. Then they open the sealed envelope and find out why: a very funny reason involving greedy seagulls.

WHAT THE KIDS DO
• 10 different puzzles: join the dots, follow compass steps, spin a pirate code wheel, spot the differences between two ships, secret flags, tangled ropes, a message in a bottle to read in a mirror, a barrel logic puzzle, a torn treasure map to put back together (they share out the pieces) and a gold coin count.
• They search the house, write their evidence in their Pirate Logbook and agree on who did it.
• Role badges rotate during the game, so everyone gets a job.

CHOOSING THE LEVEL
• Junior (6–7): picture puzzles and very little reading.
• Expert (8–10): more steps and simple maths. A note found on a cabin door also lets older kids catch an alibi that doesn't hold up.
• With mixed ages, each child can solve their own version of the same card.

FOR THE GROWN-UP
• Start with the Quick-Start: the whole game in 5 steps, on one page.
• A hiding plan with a replacement idea for every place.
• A read-aloud script, 3 step-by-step hints for every card, and an answer key that explains the reasoning.
• Setup: about 30 minutes the first time (printing, cutting out, hiding the cards). Play time: about 30–45 minutes. Both are our estimates.

WHAT YOU NEED
A printer (black & white is fine), paper, scissors, a little tape, pencils and a mirror. Gold-coin chocolates for the finale are optional. No app, no screen, no padlock.

WHAT YOU PRINT FOR ONE GAME
About 16 sheets for one level, plus 1 Pirate Logbook per child. The host guide can be read on screen.
Included in the game: Captain Marigold's letter, the suspect file, the Treasure Map, role badges, 9 treasure cards, the envelope label, Coco's letter, the treasure chest to cut out, a photo sign and certificates (type names into the PDF).
