WHITEOUT: ALASKA SURVIVAL GAME

Your small plane has crashed in a frozen Alaskan valley, and a blizzard is closing in. It’s -10°F with 45 mph winds, and the nearest road is more than 80 miles away. Lead your group through three days in the storm. Build shelter, make fire, find water, treat frostbite, face a bear and signal for rescue.

WHAT YOU GET

1 playable HTML game (opens in any web browser, no internet or installs needed)
1 PowerPoint game (77 slides) for a host to run on a TV or projector

THE GAME

8 stages plus a rescue finale, 19 decisions in total
About 60 minutes of play
Play solo, or in 2 to 4 teams that take turns
Each stage has a survival choice and a survival quiz
Real survival knowledge: the Rule of 3s, why cotton is dangerous, carbon monoxide, the signs of hypothermia, bear safety and distress signals
You collect Survival Handbook tips as you play

HOW IT WORKS

Your group has three shared meters: Warmth, Energy and Hope.
Good decisions raise them and bad ones drain them. The cold drains them after every stage.
If a meter hits zero, you can retry the stage.
Score points for best choices and correct quiz answers, and earn a rank from Cheechako to Arctic Legend.

HTML VERSION

Solo and team modes with automatic scoring and meters
Quiz hints, answer reveals, a camp inventory and a handbook
Falling snow and optional sound effects

POWERPOINT VERSION

Stage briefings, choice slides, results slides, quizzes and answers
Meter changes and each option’s outcome are in the presenter notes
A tracker slide for keeping score on a whiteboard
