Seller's description

Through Treatment, Together
A journal for parents of a child with cancer. 39 pages.
Part of the Through Treatment, Together pack from Harper's Heart Press.

When your child has cancer, life shrinks to a hospital room, a calendar full of appointments and a phone that never stops buzzing. This journal holds the details for you: the treatment calendar, appointment notes, a medicine chart, questions for the care team, insurance calls and school notes, all in one place. And it holds you: gentle pages for the hope and fear, the scan-day worry, the guilt and the anger and the good days that still come.

A gentle introduction on every page. Each page opens with a short, loving explanation of why it matters, grounded in respected research on coping, self-compassion and children's needs and one calming breath. Tracking pages are for keeping track only; your child's care team is always the one to follow.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE
5 PDF files, 39 pages each:
• Fillable – US Letter (type right on the pages on a computer, tablet or phone)
• Full color – US Letter (8.5 x 11 in)
• Full color – A4
• Printer-friendly (white background, saves ink) – US Letter
• Printer-friendly – A4

WHO IT'S FOR
• Moms, dads, stepparents, grandparents and guardians caring for a child or teen in cancer treatment, newly diagnosed or months in
• Single parents and two-parent families alike
• A thoughtful gift for a family whose child was just diagnosed: something useful that asks nothing of them
• Pediatric oncology social workers, child life teams and support groups who want an organizer to share with families (please message me about group licensing)

A GENTLE GIFT
If you love a family whose child was just diagnosed, this is a way to help that doesn't need a reply. Send the download, or print the logs and the help list, tuck them in a binder with a few pens and drop it off with a meal.

HOW IT WORKS
• This is a digital download. Nothing will be shipped to you.
• After checkout, your files appear under You > Purchases and Reviews on Etsy and in your Etsy confirmation email.
• Print at home or at a local print shop, or type right into the fillable file on a computer, tablet or phone.
• The fillable file works best in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (on a computer, tablet or phone). Other PDF apps may not save typing and some rating circles may let you pick more than one answer. To write by hand on a tablet, open any version in an app like GoodNotes or Notability.
• Print the logs and question pages as many times as you need. A 3-ring binder works well for the hospital bag.
• Print a single page or the whole journal, as many times as you need, for your own family's personal use.

A NOTE FROM ME
Hi, I'm Niki. I'm a mom and a certified grief educator. In November 2022, my daughter Harper was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at fifteen and for three and a half years I sat in waiting rooms like yours. I made this journal for the parent I was then: one place for the dates, the questions and the phone numbers and room for the feelings no one asks about. Harper's favorite quote was "You're stronger than you think." I believe that about you, too.

Real tears. Real love.
Harper's Heart Press

PLEASE NOTE
• This journal is for keeping track and for your feelings. It is not medical advice and does not replace your child's care team. Always follow your care team's instructions.
• It is not therapy and is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional. If you or anyone in your family is in crisis or thinking about ending their life, please call or text 988 (U.S.) or your local emergency number.
• For personal use only. Please don't share, resell, or redistribute the files. Hospitals, social workers and support groups, please message me about group licensing.
• Because this is a digital file, returns and exchanges aren't accepted. If anything is wrong with your download, message me and I'll make it right.
• Colors may look slightly different depending on your screen and printer.
